Spring semester has begun! We had a great first day of Religious School on Sunday, January 22 where we kicked off the semester with a new elective (Chuggim) – cooking! We are very excited to use our ISJL Program Associate’s knowledge of cooking to learn about Jewish foods around the world this semester.
We have a LOT of great programming happening this semester! We hope you’ll join us for the ones that are open to the entire TKC community. Here’s what’s coming up!
February 3: Family Shabbat! We will be featuring Scouts on this day – all scouts are welcome to join us, kids of all ages that are in religious school and not, adults, and friends of TKCers! All are welcome!
February 5: Tu B’Shevat Experience with our ISJL Program Associate, Ezra! Ezra is coming from Jackson, MS, to lead all grades in a fun hands-on Tu B’Shevat experience!
February 12: Our 6th Graders and their families will have a Family Education Day to pick their Torah and Haftarah portions. This special day includes support from a lot of our staff and students, as our 7th graders mentor the 6th graders as they pick their portions and make their yads to use at their B’nai Mitzvah.
February 26: We will be hosting a special training for those who want to work with special needs kids. This is open to adults and teens ages 13+ in our community who want to learn how to support special needs kids in a school and classroom environment. The training will lead up to the Special Needs Purim Celebration that TKC will be hosting on March 12 and will be led by Caroline and Kelly Figiel.
March 5: Purim! Join us to celebrate Purim, Encanto style! Watch our spiel at noon and then stay for the food and festivities.
March 12: We invite the entire North Fulton community to our Special Needs Purim Celebration from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Details coming soon.
March 15: Registration for 2023-24 opens! Please share information about our great school with your friends, family, and neighbors. All grades have room in them for next year!
April 16: We will be celebrating the 3 major Yoms: Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day, April 18), Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day, April 26), and Yom HaZikaron (Israeli Memorial Day, April 25). Students will experience the 3 Yoms in a fun and hands-on program created just for TKC by the ISJL.
April 23: Annual Meeting and 7th grade Mitzvah Day Blood Drive. The 7th grade class this year has planned multiple family Mitzvah days instead of doing individual projects. The final mitzvah day will be on April 23rd and will be a blood drive hosted at TKC and led by our students. Look for more information coming soon!
April 30: Last Day of School Celebration! Phew! What a year! Let’s close it out with some Encanto fun!

Thank you again for your continued support of our religious school. We are looking forward to a busy, fun spring semester with lots of fun activities for our families and students and hopefully a return to normal very soon!
